Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Testing

Meeting the requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive, 2014/30/EU, is an essential part of the CE Marking process.

EMC ensures that an electronic product does not adversely affect, or be affected by other products in the same environment. It also aims to protect electronic communications, for example from broadcast radio and TV, the emergency services and mobile phone operators.

The New EMC Directive 2014/30/EU

The New EMC Directive, 2014/30/EU, came into force on 20^th April 2016 with no transition period. Compliance with the new EMC directive is an essential part of the CE marking process. The provisions in the new directive have an effect not just on manufacturers but also authorised representatives, importers and distributors in the EU.
